The Ryan Raider Robotics team is sponsored by David Cribbs. Mr. Cribbs has been teaching physics at Ryan high school for several years now and has had great success engaging his students in math, science and technology through the the national FIRST program. They compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge class based on their robots ability to perform various tasks in autonomous and radio controlled modes.

The Robotics Club competed in and won the UT Dallas FIRST Tech Challenge competition held at The Parish Episcopal School on Saturday, April 16th . By winning the UT Dallas competition, the club has qualified for the State Championship tournament! Both teams did a great job of designing, building and programming their robots for this competition. They overcame mechanical problems, made last minute changes and worked together extremely well to bring home the 1st place trophies!

They followed their great performance in regional competition with a 6th place finish in state wide competition in Lubbock, TX. Congratulations to the team and to Mr. Cribbs. We’ll look forward to next year!
